If you like sipping tea, nibbling on cucumber sandwiches and doing your bit for charity at the same time, you won’t want to miss the Children’s Heart Unit Fund’s (CHUF) first ever Hearts & Handbags afternoon tea event, which takes place at The Hilton Hotel, Gateshead, next month.
The charity fundraiser, sponsored by intu Eldon Square and intu Metrocentre, will raise vital funds for children’s cardiac care across the region. Proceeds will go towards the Children’s Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital, as well as numerous other District General Hospitals in the North.
Guests at the event will enjoy a sparkling drinks reception, tasty afternoon tea and the opportunity to browse retail stalls including Molton Brown, The Handbag Clinic, The Botanist and Aspinal of London. They’ll hear from a panel of parents, medical staff and Heart Heroes who will share their experiences. The panel’s guest of honour is Kaylee Davidson-Olley, the longest surviving baby to ever receive a heart transplant in the UK, is celebrating the 30th anniversary of her heart transplant.
The afternoon will finish in style with a catwalk of the summer’s hottest trends and an exciting handbag auction. It’s an event not to be missed.
