Nestled away on the Quayside, Live Theatre is located in one of the city’s most picturesque spots. With its reputation as a new writing theatre, Approaching Empty fits right into their repertoire, written by award-winning playwright and former taxi driver, Ishy Din. Set in a North East cab office, it tells the story of two friends entering into a business deal on the eve of Margaret Thatcher’s death. As business gets personal, the everyday struggles of a post-industrial generation come to light, in this exciting firs time collaboration between Live Theatre, Kiln Theatre and Tamasha.
