It’s only been going a year but Pleased To Meet You is already an established cocktail bar in Newcastle. Although they specialise in gin, they’ve created the High Bridge Spritz for this summer which contains soda, prosecco and French orange digestif ‘Picon‘ topped off with a mint and orange garnish, all for £8.95.

With over 80 cocktails on their menu, you’ll be spoilt for choice at Whisky River. The clue is in the name for their speciality though and their signature drink is a chocolate orange take on an Old Fashioned which will cost you £6.50.

At Kalinka there’s a cocktail to suit any palette from the mudshake to the mojito. Voted Middlesbrough’s ‘2013 Venue Of The Year’, they’ve created the Kalinka Kroove for this summer. Competitively priced at only £4 it’s vodka based and mixes champagne and summer fruits.

With a former World Cocktail Champion behind their menu Hotel Indigo’s cocktails are always something special. Their award-winning Royal Temptation remains a firm favourite and combines Amaretto, Kahlua and Midori, and costs £8.95.

With a drinks menu that’s 24 pages long, Ebony take their mixology seriously. You won’t pay over £8 for any of their drinks though and they’ve got an array of original creations from the Frozen Black Irish to the tropical Dee-Licious.

Snuggled at the bottom of Dean Street in Newcastle, Livello has become a cocktail hotspot and with a new summer menu they’ll only enhance that standing. The Rhubarb Julep made with bourbon, rhubarb syrup, mint and sugar and served in a julep tin will be a winner at £6.95.

in cocktails. Their George Stephenson inspired ‘Locomotive’ twins Newcastle Brown Ale syrup with a lot of alcohol for £9.50.

Known for their ever-changing cocktail menu, The Lighthouse still do all the old favourites. If you’re out and about in the Lake District and fancy a slurp in the sun then give their very summery Lychee Fizz a try for £6.75.
