This alpine-themed bar is the perfect place to head for an evening of fun and good food, with live entertainment, sharing platters served on snowboards and a spacious heated garden equipped with a gondola. Skiing legend Eddie the Eagle himself even popped by to greet people as the restaurant opened last week.

Leave your expectations at the door and get ready for something totally different at this new Indian restaurant inside The Windmill Inn. You’ll find food with an explosion of spice and flavour – from fish and leek bhaji with cashew nut butter, to creamy curries and unusual sides. Rice is served in a pint glass and dosa’s in a mini shopping basket – a truly unique dining experience.

If you like: Wood-fired Pizza
Then try: Stable Hearth, Darlington 
All the pizzas at Stable Hearth are fired to perfection in a wood-fire pizza oven and are made using sourdough or yeast bases. We recommend The Forager, which is generously topped with wild mushrooms, red onions, truffle oil and rosemary, for a pizza that’s packed with flavour.
