A year ago, The Curtain Store at Home opened its doors to the people of the North East, providing them with a superstore where they could find the ideal interiors for their homes.
Its goal was simple: to stock the largest selection of the finest home furnishings and fabrics in the North East, using its experience of more than 40 years in the curtains and textiles industry to collate the best items to turn a house into a home. The large store has more than 10 individual departments, offering a wide selection of home furnishings to suit everyone’s taste, and which will make people’s homes feel more comfortable and stylish.
In the curtain department, new fabrics from around the world arrive in-store all the time, providing a massive range of thousands of fabrics to choose from. The in-house work room can create made-to-measure curtains, tailored to customers’ specifications. A new range of readymade curtains from acclaimed designers Clarke & Clarke will soon be arriving in the store, while a small net curtain department has been added to meet customer demand.
But that’s not all that’s changed in the 12 months that The Curtain Store at Home has been open to the public. The Voyage section of homewares has massively expanded to become a shop within a shop, featuring the entire range of accessories – no one else in the area has as wide a selection.
The bed linen department has been improved, with new lighting, new display beds and new lines from the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Harlequin and Lipsy added to the already sterling selection of brands including Kath Kidston, Sanderson and V&A.
The lighting department has doubled in size, and customer response indicates that even if it were doubled again there’d still be a desire for more. Staff in the Luxaflex Gallery (the largest gallery in Europe) are able to advise customers as to the best blinds to install, while fitters can fit any of the extensive range, including the all new Powerview.
At The Curtain Store at Home’s first anniversary celebration, specially invited guests enjoyed extensive discounts on big brand names including Voyage Maison homeware, major bed linen ranges and rugs, cushions, lighting and mirrors, as well as champagne in the licensed bistro/café, which serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea (which is becoming increasingly popular). Guests come back for the delicious food and relaxing ambience, as well as the astounding selection of home furnishings and fabrics.
A year on, The Curtain Store is even bigger and better – so why not come and visit to find out yourself just how much the store has evolved. The birthday celebration is still going: a range of amazing prizes remain on offer through the in-store prize draw, including a £500 voucher to spend on anything in-store, £250 vouchers for Voyage goods, £500 vouchers to spend on Searchlight lighting, and more.
