Champagne flutes with raspberries being poured
From gin-filled baubles to alcoholic advent calendars, here are some of the things we’re looking forward to most at our Newcastle Christmas Fair... See you for a glass of fizz at the Holly Bar if we haven't already filled up on mince pies and mulled wine

Get all your Christmas shopping under one roof

Whether you're looking for the best fresh produce for your Christmas lunch, or the ideal present from handpicked independent retailers to give a loved one on Christmas morning, you'll find it all conveniently under one roof.

Live chef demonstrations

Where else can you see some of the region's best chefs talk you through how they prep for Christmas day? With live chef demonstrations running throughout the weekend, it's the best place to learn how to cook – and to pick the brains of those who know their onions.

Stop off for a tipple at the Holly Bar

Every hour is fizz o'clock at the Living North Christmas Fair, thanks to the delightful Holly Bar. Pull up a seat, set down your shopping and relax with a glass of the finest fizz to refresh you for another round of shopping at our amazing stalls.

You'll be supporting a fantastic cause

Our chosen charity for this year's Christmas fair is Josie's Dragonfly Trust, a Hexham-based charity who make dreams come true for people under 24 with life-limiting illnesses. They will be running a shop and drop so you can make the most of your day unencumbered while making a difference to this worthwhile cause.

We all need these gin-filled baubles

Christmas tree decorations are great and everything, but they can be a little one-dimensional at times. Yeah, they're sparkly. But do you know what they're not? Full of gin. These ones from The Lakes Distillery, however, are very full of gin indeed. Ingenious.

You'll definitely find something to brighten up your home

There's a frankly preposterously huge choice of independent makers, designers, artists and other brilliant people who want to make sure your home remains cosy and bright long after Twelfth Night is out.

Not on the high street

Though we're just minutes from the centre of Newcastle, you won't find the exhibitors at our one-of-a-kind event – or the products they're selling – on the high street. That means you can find that truly unique gift for someone close to you this Christmas.

Count down to Christmas with a gin advent calendar

Why taunt yourself with those gin-filled baubles hanging on your tree, undrinkable until the big day itself? Give yourself a good gin run-up with Edinburgh Gin's advent calendar, which hides a 50ml miniature behind each door. Merry, merry, merry Christmas everyone.

Sweet treats from The Pudding Parlour

These cake experts know how to inject some wow-factor into a dessert, and this year they'll be bringing along their brand new Galaxy Caramel cake, as well as cake jars flavoured with Caramac, Rolos and Terry's Chocolate Orange. Mmmm.

Warm up with a mug of mulled wine

The Ivy Café is the place to warm up once you're all shopped out. Grab a mug of warming mulled wine while you catch up with friends and take stock of a great day out.
