Get moving this weekend with our list of the best suppliers of outdoor equipment across the North East

Coquet Cycles and The Bike Shop
If you’re out and about on your bike and you encounter a bit of bother – what do you do? Don’t try to fix it yourself – call in the experts. Coquet Cycles offer mobile cycle repairs to get you moving again as quickly as possible. At their shop in Alnwick, they’ll kit you out with a push bike, electric bike and accessories or repair any gear you’ve already got.

Tees Barrage International White Water Centre
Take to the water on Teesside where you can get involved in white water rafting, flat water canoeing, bell boating and sailing. The Tees Barrage International White Water Centre has had millions of pounds spent on it and is truly world class.

Massive Attack Paintball
This destination is as extreme as you’d expect anywhere with ‘attack’ in its name to be. Get involved in paintballing, rage racing and jump karting at Massive Attack Paintball. There are four themed game zones to get involved in – we recommend the wild west town.

Kielder Water & Forest Park
If it’s extreme and outdoorsy, you can probably do it at Kielder. Activities on offer include cycling, horse-riding, canoeing, sailing and water skiing, and the Observatory is always worth a visit too.

CJ Performance Cycles
If you’ve decided you’re going to explore the region’s spectacular countryside on two wheels, rather than two feet, this summer, you’re going to need to get yourself kitted out. CJ Performance Cycles have two locations in the North East, both of which are jam-packed with bikes, accessories and maintenance equipment.

Langley Dam Fishery
Over the course of the last three decades, Langley Dam Fishery has cemented its reputation as one of the top fly fishing locations in the North East. Enjoy the tranquility on the banks of the water, hire a boat and head out to deeper water or enter the annual competitions held here for both adults and juniors.

Cullercoats Bike and Kayak
Take a guided tour of the fabulous coastline with Cullercoats Bike and Kayak. Our favourite activity is coasteering – knowledgeable guides take intrepid groups of explorers to discover every nook and cranny of the seafront.
