al fresco
The warmer weather has us in the mood to turn up the heat on our week – from al fresco dining to hilariously funny comedy and music from one of the greatest male vocalists of his time

Delicious food and a carafe of wine – what a way to brighten up a Monday. Ouseburn’s Ernest is known for it’s cool vibe and honest food, and now, from Monday’s to Thursday’s, you can make the most of their menu by trying three plates and any flatbread, accompanied by a carafe of house wine for £30. You can even sit out front on the wooden furniture while you enjoy – you can’t say no to that.

American-Canadian singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright is regarded as one of the greatest male vocalists and composers of his time, and he’s collaborated with the likes of Elton John, Joni Mitchell and Mark Ronson. He’s performing a very special intimate concert at Leeds Town Hall this week, showcasing songs from across his eight studio albums.

Take a seat in The Bamburgh Castle Inn and enjoy a lovely view from the terrace and beer garden that’ll make you want to stay outside all day long: look out toward the Farne Islands and along the coast to Bamburgh Castle itself as you soak up the sunshine and an ale (or two).

The classic Some Mothers ‘Av ‘Em TV comedy returns to the stage at Hull New Theatre – with stand up supremo Joe Pasquale as the loveable yet accident-prone Frank Spencer and West End veteran and Corrie alumnus Susie Blake as his disapproving mother-in-law, Mrs Fisher. Expect laughs.
