SATURDAY
England have finally ended their penalty shootout-winning drought and many of us are already getting carried away looking at their potential route to the World Cup final. But Sweden will be as tough a test as any, and that’s who we’re up against today at 3pm. Watch them on the big screen at Times Square Newcastle or in Millennium Square Leeds. Let’s hope they make us roar! Or find more places to catch the match at www.livingnorth.com/northeast/things-to-do/watching-world-cup

SATURDAY EVENING
Beer Thirty is a brand new bottle shop and pour house that’s opening its doors in Morley today. Expert beers from the finest craft breweries in the world, with everything from Saltaire to Vocation, Cloudwater and Zapato. They may not have a brewery tap just yet, but you can always grab a cold pint at the Truth Hurts Brew Co. which is just next door.

SUNDAY EVENING
SÓL ÁST is derived from Old Norse words meaning sun and love and is York’s exciting new summer tipi pop-up bar. Brought to you by Thor’s – it’s a beer garden soaked in the sunshine, with brightly-coloured hanging lanterns, greenery, a rather long list of summer refreshments from traditional Pimm’s to gin and elderflower, and an outdoor barbecue – what’s not to love?
