Katie Melua Gori Women's Choir
We’ve got a jam-packed week of entertainment, including a performance from soulful singer-songwriter Katie Melua, comedy from Scottish favourite Kevin Bridges, and an unforgettable production of Alice in Wonderland

10 DECEMBER
KEVIN BRIDGES
City Hall, Sheffield
01142 789789
www.sheffieldcityhall.sivtickets.com

One of Scotland’s biggest comedy exports has been touring the stand up circuit for well over a decade now, and shows no signs of slowing down. In his Brand New Tour, he’s intent on saving the world ‘with amusing anecdotes and witty observations’. We’re excited to see if he pulls it off.

10 DECEMBER
LOVE ACTUALLY WITH LIVE ORCHESTRA
Bonus Arena, Hull
0844 858 5025
www.bonusarenahull.com

Following a string of sold-out dates last year, everyone’s favourite festive film will once again be screened across the nation this Christmas, backed by the awe-inspiring music of a full orchestra performing its enchanted score live – just in time for the big day.

11 DECEMBER
ALICE IN WONDERLAND
Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough
01723 370541
www.sjt.uk.com

Once upon a time there was a little girl who ran free in the wilds of her imagination, meeting Cheshire Cats, Mad Hatters, White Rabbits and any amount of talking cards. Her Wonderland was real, and she’d never forget it… until she grew old and did. Now Stephen Joseph Theatre invites you to go back down the rabbit hole with adult Alice, where she finds that Wonderland has changed, and not for the better. Daft, exciting, and full of fabulous songs, this is sure to be a hit for the whole family.

12 DECEMBER
KATIE MELUA
York Barbican Centre
0844 854 2757
www.yorkbarbican.co.uk

Katie is joined by members of the Gori Women’s Choir for her latest, especially festive tour of the UK, which not only sees her celebrate the new release of her Ultimate Collection – a selection of her best-loved tracks, readapted and reimagined (as well as some new releases) – but also celebrates the unique beauty of her previous collaboration with the choir, In Winter, at this special time of year.

13 DECEMBER
A WINTER PARTY AT THE LODGE
Middleton Lodge, Richmond
01325 377977
www.middletonlodge.co.uk

Who cares it’s Thursday, it’s Christmas! Grab a group of friends, family, loved ones (or even dare we say, colleagues) and head to the magnificent Georgian estate of Middleton Lodge for a fabulous evening of dancing beneath the stars in their marquee. With a sumptuous winter feast on offer, free-flowing fizz and even accommodation available (if you wanted to make a night of it) you’ll certainly get into the festive spirit.
