‘Christmas is a gift to the dramatist,’ Alan Ayckbourn once said, and this play shows exactly why. It’s a rather unhappy Christmas, and a season of very little goodwill, as a festive family reunion goes ever so slightly wrong.
Back in Durham for the fifth time, artists from around the world will light up Durham in ways you’ve never seen before. Watch out for a tornado of fire, an animated moon and a garden of glowing flowers in the Cathedral cloisters.
