North East 

Burns Night at Spanish City 
While Burns Night is first and foremost a Scottish celebration, all are welcome to join the festivities at Spanish City. This year, the iconic building in Whitley Bay will host a lavish Burns-themed evening – expect a piper to welcome you on arrival, a four-course Scottish supper (complete with infamous haggis, neeps and tatties) and a Ceilidh band with a live caller to talk you through the dances, meaning there’s no excuse not to join in. Don your kilts or your finest attire for what promises to be a special night.

Burns Night Ceilidh at The Witham
Blast away those January blues and celebrate Burns Night in style at The Witham, with music, dancing, whisky and, of course, haggis. Durham’s community arts centre will welcome live music and Ceilidh dancing provided by the fabulous Angels of the North, while a haggis neeps and tatties supper, washed down with a wee dram of whisky, will keep you on your feet all night. Kilts optional.

Burns Night Supper at Alnwick Castle
What better way to toast to one of Scotland’s most adored poets than with a traditional supper just 30 miles from his hometown? Alnwick Castle in Northumberland is commemorating Robert Burns with an evening filled with delicious Scottish food, drink, poetry and celebration all within their extra-special restaurant, The Courtyard. You’ll be able to indulge in a tasty four-course Scottish-inspired menu, including mouth-watering haggis, kedgeree and raspberry cranachan, and for those who like a dram to toast the haggis, there will be a great choice of whisky at the bar.

Burns Night Ball at Middleton Lodge
Want to celebrate like a true Scot? Middleton Lodge’s Burns Night Ball, hosted in the grandeur of The Main House, will get you in the Scottish spirit with a good old knees-up. You will enjoy prosecco on arrival, a delicious three-course supper cooked by expert chefs, and a classic Scottish Celidh that will have you jigging long into the night (Highland fling anyone?)

Burns Night Supper and Whisky Tasting at Booths 
When it’s the time to raise a glass to Rabbie Burns, Booths Ilkley have all the ingredients. 
Their pre-Burns Night offering includes three whisky tastings where you’ll be guided through some of the finest Scotch whiskies on offer by a true connoisseur. Sipped up an appetite? There’s also a supper of haggis, neeps and tatties, and an indulgent whisky and marmalade pudding, to sink your teeth into.

Concerteenies Burns Night Special
Join renowned musicians Martin Harwood and Cath James at The Greystoines in Sheffield for a Burns Night musical special. There’ll be foot-stomping jigs and reels, stirring Scottish songs, and a chance to join in with some buoyant Ceilidh dancing. With bubbles, percussion, props and endless entertainment, it promises to be a great event for all the family.
