4. Jesmond Dene Arts Market
It’s Jesmond Dene Arts Market on Saturday (for future reference it’s on the third Saturday of every month). Pop along to the Visitors Centre at Millfield House to browse art, design and crafts stalls by some of the region’s best artisans. www.facebook.com/jesmonddeneartsmarket

5. Parkrun

6. Tipping Point
Check out Tipping Point at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield on Friday. The circus skills event sees talented performers climb, swing and balance on poles, all set to music composed by musicians who’ve worked with Radiohead, Hot Chip and Bat For Lashes. www.thelbt.org

7. Super League Magic Weekend
Get ready for the Super League Magic Weekend at St James’ Park. The home of Newcastle United will host all 12 Super League teams on Saturday and Sunday, with three games a day, live music and a fan zone combining to create the ultimate rugby fiesta. Smashing. www.rugby-league.com

8. Comedy Duo
Rhys James and Llyod Griffith are both hilarious – see these rising talents at The Witham in Barnard Castle on Saturday. www.thewitham.org.uk
