The annual event promises to be a wonderful day out for all the family. More than 130,000 visitors are expected to flock to Harrogate to enjoy the three-day rural extravaganza, which opens its gates on Tuesday 12 July until Thursday 14 July.
Organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, England’s premier agricultural show is an exciting of blend the best in British farming, cutting-edge fashion, dazzling cookery demonstrations and traditional country skills mixed with impressive garden displays and some of the best shopping in the country!
This year, the showground’s new £10 million hall will make its debut as the venue for the food emporium. The hall plays host to the Great Yorkshire Cheese and Dairy Show, a cookery theatre and food show with TV chef Rosemary Shrager, which is sure to prove a big draw to visitors.
Topping the bill in the Main Ring will be displays by the motorcycle display team, Bolddog Lings, as well as international show jumping and the awesome cattle parade with about 200 animals. There’s the chance to get up-close and personal with animals of all shapes and sizes, a new look to the show’s Country Pursuits and Forestry Areas and more than 1,300 stands with everything from hot tubs to combine harvesters on display.
Shoppers there’s also an opportunities to buy the latest designer dresses, jackets and shoes to chutney, crumpets and chapatis! As well as the 8,000 animals competing for the coveted rosettes, the Great Yorkshire Show is hosting the Aberdeen Angus Cattle Society’s Summer National Show and will showcase some of the latest in agricultural technology.
A family ticket purchased on the day is £67. Pre-booked family tickets cost £56.
