Be part a six-week celebration of 100 years since Roald Dahl’s birth at The Witham – Barnard Castle’s vibrant arts centre, in the heart of Teesdale.

We are offering one lucky reader a family ticket to view all of the Summer of Stories, inspired by Roald Dahl from 23 July to 3 September at The Witham, which offers theatre, film, comedy, dance, classical, contemporary and world music as well as creative workshops, art gallery and café.

The family film ticket admits five people (one of whom needs to be under 16) for all six of the films shown as part of the Summer of Stories.

A host of partners in Barnard Castle has joined forces with The Witham to offer events and workshops throughout the summer too. These will take place at The Witham, the Hub, The Bowes Museum and on the High Street there’ll be a Dahl-inspired shop window.

Highlights include a six-day musical theatre school for 8–16 year olds to perform a 20–minute version of the RSC’s Matilda the Musical, with the score by Tim Minchin. You’ll find exciting happenings from a children’s gypsy caravan, a free little library a dream jar in the café to collect children’s dreams and create dream bunting over the summer. There’s also children’s and adults’ writing competitions to get involved with.

For your chance to win, simply send your name and contact details on a postcard to Living North, Studio 2, St Nicholas Chare, Newcastle NE1 1RJ or enter using our online competition form here. Mark your entries STORIES. All entries to be received by Wednesday 20 July 2016.
