Win a mini-break to Bamburgh as well as admission to the historic Bamburgh Castle

Bamburgh Castle

Recently cited as one of the top 10 most romantic places to stay in Britain, Bamburgh is a picture-postcard coastal town, home to Sandhills cottage – an ideal destination for a cosy stay for two, or spot for small families to hunker down. And as it’s dog-friendly too, your pooch will always be welcome.

Exuding preppy coastal chic, this luxury seaside house is one of Bamburgh’s hidden self-catering gems – perfect as a base for exploring the area’s laid-back beach scene and stack of brilliant things to do. Hop aboard a boat at nearby Seahouses and sally forth to the Farne Islands, explore the range of culinary offerings on your doorstep and devour moreish seafood, or indulge in proper pub food at one of the local restaurants and gastro pubs.

Sandhills is a quirky, chalet-style cottage in an extraordinary location, tucked away in the dunes between Bamburgh Castle and one of the most iconic stretches of coastline in the country. Our winner will spend a three or four-night stay at the award-winning beach house, along with their two chosen guests. Best of all, they will also receive full admission to Bamburgh Castle itself, which this year celebrates 125 years since its purchase by inspired Victorian innovator, William George Armstrong.

Armstrong spent his final years restoring Bamburgh into the spectacular castle that stands today, serving as a lasting legacy of his passion for this breathtaking part of the country. The castle remains the private home of the Armstrong family to this day, and provides a fun day out for all of the family.

A year of celebrations are planned at Bamburgh Castle in celebration of Armstrong’s visionary work. Victorian re-enactments, exhibitions and events – including new Armstrong tours with castle historian Carol Griffiths – and an interactive Lego art exhibition will take place from Easter onwards.
