Alexander Millar
Most mornings, you can find Newcastle-based artist Alexander Millar in Di Marco’s cafe with his sketchpad. He produces paintings which are inspired by his childhood in a small Scottish mining community, and uncover the darkness of our country after the Second World War. His works hang around galleries all around the world, but you can find his print Lollipops and 99s closer to home, as they’re now in permanent residence on one of the entrances to the dining area of Newcastle’s intu Eldon Square.
