A Victorian park stretching over 55 acres of Gateshead, this is a firm family favourite. The park has been recently restored, redesigning many of the original features including the maze and rose garden. There are flowers for every season — marigolds, roses and red phlomis in spring and summer, coppery red sedum in autumn and silverdust during winter. You will also find the Garden of Reflection, a contemplative area alongside the war memorial.
Must see: The Dene — a burbling woodland valley where the stream winds through pools, cascades and a lily pond.
