This is Thai dining at its finest. The restaurant is slick, modern and so successful that there are four branches open across Yorkshire. The dishes are authentic, fresh and delicious, resulting in numerous awards for Sukhothai since their opening. Head Chef and owner, Ban Kaewkraikhot, who ran a successful restaurant in Bangkok prior to relocating to Yorkshire, certainly knows what she’s doing.

So passionate are they about barbecuing here, they’ve imported an ‘Ole Hickory’ smoker and grill from the USA. Before smoking, their meats are dry rubbed with seasonings made in–house and then smoked over Yorkshire oak wood for hours on end. Tuck in to delicious favourites like 18 hour smoked pulled pork shoulder, or St Louis ribs served with slaw, a selection of dips and sides, like BBQ spiced fries.

Although the name might suggest traditional pub grub, the menu here is stylish and carefully curated using produce from the finest local suppliers. Expect dishes like grilled fillet of bream with a fricassee of vegetables, sautéed potatoes, spinach, tempura king prawn and tarragon. The atmosphere only adds to the enjoyment, with interiors creating a traditional country inn feel, with stylish and contemporary touches throughout. If you’re hosting a gathering, the Oak Panelled Room is available for private lunchtime dining.
