South Tyneside Restaurant Week

Spoilt for choice at this year’s South Tyneside Restaurant Week? We’ve narrowed the options down to our five foodie favourites

La Vina

Treat yourself to a Tapas Tower at La Vina which includes delicious pork san chow bow with crushed peanuts, and sliced chillies and za’artar spiced halloumi with zaalouk sauce, for £16.95. Fear not though vegetarians, as there’s an equally delicious veggie Tapas Tower for £15.95 – don’t miss out.

Loca Bar & Kitchen

A new addition to South Tyneside’s Restaurant Week, Loca Bar & Kitchen is offering two courses for £10 or three for £15. If you’re stuck on what to have for dessert, we recommend the Mexican brownie; a twist on the humble brownie, with a secret ingredient – we wonder what it could be…

Star of India

There’ll be stars in your eyes when you see how many dishes are available to choose from at Star of India. Enjoy one starter, one main course and one rice dish for £6.50 Sunday to Friday, and £8.50 on Saturday.

The Sand Dancer

You’ll be dancing out of this restaurant with a full stomach and wallet, with two courses costing £11.95, or three for £14.95. We can’t decide between the chocolate fudge cake with pouring cream or ice cream, or the vanilla cheesecake topped with mango puree and blueberries for dessert.

Dame Bella’s

The newly transformed bar and bistro at The Customs House, themed around the history of their ‘little panto with a big heart’, is offering two courses for £12.95 or three for £15.95. Will you brie picking the English three cheese platter for dessert? Sorry, that joke wasn’t very mature.
