Where to Go for Pancake Day

One of our favourite days of the year is here again and if you don’t feel like making your own pancakes this year, here’s where to go instead

Riverview Kitchen, Durham DH1 3RB
Enjoy your pancakes while gazing out at the beautiful view of (you guessed it) the river, and Durham Cathedral peeping over the trees. Great views, friendly service and pancakes slathered in Nutella – what more could you want?

Alexander’s Bar & Kitchen, Skipton BD23 1JZ
Classic Canadian flavours reign here, with Alexander’s fabulously fluffy buttermilk pancakes with bacon and maple syrup – if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Quay Ingredient, Newcastle NE1 3UG
Nestled under the Tyne Bridge is one of Newcastle’s favourite tiny coffee houses, which also happens to serve out-of-this-world pancakes – stop here for delicious, cinnamon-y goodness.

The Pancake House, Pately Bridge HG3 5AP
Leave your jars of Nutella at the door, The Pancake House are all about the unusual when it comes to pancake toppings (just kidding, you can of course still have Nutella). Try maple bacon, brie and chutney, or if you’re feeling really brave, goat’s cheese, sweet chilli jam and rocket.

The Apple Core, Lucker NE70 7JL
A slightly unusual melange of Mediterranean restaurant and crêperie, but we’re definitely on board. Choose between an incredible array of flavours including salted caramel & Glen Aln whisky and spiced apple, and indulge by adding a scoop of luxury ice cream.

The Cabin, Sheffield S1 4JH
Whether you’re team savoury or team sweet, The Cabin can cater to you. Opt for a classic banana and peanut butter, tasty smoked bacon, or if you’ve got a serious sweet tooth, they also offer ice cream toppings – we’re going for maple ice cream.
