Hidden Treasure - Blagdon

An award-winning foodie destination just minutes from Newcastle

Try the Parlour at Blagdon for light meals and traditional Italian ice cream, or head up to the Ridley Arms. The Cheese Loft Café above the Northumberland Cheese Company’s working dairy is a cheese lover’s heaven, serving cheese soup, fruit cake with cheese and cheesy garlic bread.

Choose from a huge range of quality Northumbrian produce at Blagdon Farm Shop, including fresh meat and artisan products. While you’re there pop into Get Smart II and browse through their stylish collections. Also on site is Blagdon Gallery, which exhibits paintings, ceramics and sculpture.

Around the Corner
Just across the A1 from Blagdon, Northumberlandia (or the Lady of the North) is a gigantic landform 100 feet high and quarter of a mile long, created as part of the restoration of the adjacent Shotton surface mine. There are four miles of footpaths to explore around this spectacular site.
