We couldn’t be more excited about the food and drink producers attending our Christmas shopping event this year – from award-winning Burtree Puddings with their heavenly sticky toffee pudding to the best independent drinks companies serving up gin, wine and everything in between. There’ll be plenty of opportunities for sampling too – including delicious tastings from our exhibitors, afternoon teas and chef demonstrations from some of the region’s finest chefs.

Spanish City Christmas Fayre
Whitley Bay
23–24 November, tickets free

After almost 18 years, the festive season at Spanish City is back. Add this to your pre-Christmas line-up to enjoy a weekend of shopping their variety of stalls and indulging under the iconic dome, with fish and chips at Trenchers or a festive-themed afternoon tea.

Winter Beer and Gin Christmas Festival
South Causey Inn
29th November, tickets £25

You’ll be able to enjoy all the festive favourites at this festival. Kick off the evening with a Causey Gin, distilled on their site, browse their stalls and shop your favourite ales, beers and gins, enjoy live music and end your evening roasting chestnuts and dipping marshmallows in the chocolate fountain.

Leeds Christkindelmarkt

Bringing festive cheer to Leeds city centre with its traditional wooden stalls, festive greenery and a Christmas carousel, Leeds German Christmas market will transform Millennium Square into a winter village – with plenty authentic German food and drink to feast on. We can already smell the Glühwine and currywürst.

The Piece Hall Christmas Fair
The Piece Hall, Halifax
29 November–1 December, free

Packed with pop-up food and drink traders as well as entertainment from local musicians, this Christmas showcase is a great way to get into the festive spirit in some of Halifax’s most beautiful surroundings.
