This week we’ve plenty to feast on, from panto and comedy to a night of festive cheese – it’s set to be a week of indulging…

MONDAY
All aboard for a high-flying adventure – the Blue Genie returns to Whitley Bay Playhouse for a swash-buckling production of Peter Pan. Anthony Costa takes on the dastardly role of Captain Hook, while Playhouse favourite Steve Walls is back for his ninth year in pantomime to play the hilarious Smee. An action-packed, Christmas treat for the whole family.

TUESDAY
This friendly neighbourhood bar, serving up beers, wines, cocktails and a quirky street food menu is set to cook up a storm this Tuesday. Sheffield’s Barrow Boy will be playing their part in reducing wastage with a pay-as-you-feel vegan feast, complete with your choosing from their new winter cocktail menu, with all funds donated to the local charity, Homeless and Rootless at Christmas. We can’t think of a better reason to raise a glass?

WEDNESDAY
Get over hump day with some laughs at The Turbinia, County Durham where Ben van der Velde, David Hadingham and Danny Deegan will be strutting their comedic stuff. Ben’s latest stand-up has been jam-packed with jokes about religion, politics, flying bears and Swedish meatballs, so we can only imagine what to expect from him as he leads this comedy triple-header, joined by two other superb funny men – David and Danny.

THURSDAY
’Tis the season for indulgence, and what better what to indulge than by treating yourself to A Night of Festive Cheese, by Homage2Fromage. They’ve taken over Butlers at Kirkstall Forge in Leeds, for a fabulously festive cheesy evening. On arrival, enjoy a deliciously seasonal sharing board, before moving onto bubbling cauldrons of Comte fondue, melted Ogleshield raclette atop a heap of buttery new potatoes and bacon, as well as baked Camembert spiked with garlic and herbs. All served with roasted veg, pickles, sauces and local bread to mop it all up.
