MAKE MY WEEK... | Living North

We’re heading out to a pop-up restaurant launch, injecting a little drama into hump day and achieving a state of mindfulness before heading out to see Florence and The Machine

This evening two of Newcastle’s culinary hot spots are coming together to launch an all new dining experience. Combining quality Spanish produce from local Kaltur with the vibrant atmosphere of Bar 28, El Nido Latin Kitchen is popping up to satisfy all of your wine and cheese board needs in an intimate city centre location.

Mindfulness is everybody’s favourite buzzword so this Tuesday why not see what it means for yourself with a trip to Kirkstall Abbey. Aiming to induce a state of awareness in its participants, the practice is renowned for improving mental wellbeing amongst followers by helping them pay attention to their current thoughts and feelings. This mindfulness event features two meditation practices, allowing participants to leave feeling thoroughly de-stressed.

From one of the most acclaimed British films comes one of the most phenomenal theatrical productions. Inject a little drama into your hump-day with the spectacular show The Full Monty at Darlington Hippodrome. This hilarious and heartfelt production encapsulates the struggles and hopes of six out-of-work steelworkers from Sheffield with nothing to lose. Packed full of toe-tapping songs and with an all-star cast, this is not one to be missed.

Florence and the Machine’s hugely-anticipated new album, High As Hope, was released back in June of this year and has been enjoying rave reviews from critics and fans alike. If you haven’t seen this band play live yet get your hands on last minute tickets to see her perform at Leeds First Direct Arena tonight. And if you have, still go.
