Make My Week...

It may be the start of another busy week at work, but we’ve got plenty of exciting entertainment to keep you going – from boardgames and booze to the Pony European Championships and jazz with a side of tapas

For a day out with a difference, head to the Treehouse boardgames cafe in Sheffield and let your competitive side out as you challenge your friends to one of the 400 games. Cheating will be kept at bay with expert staff on hand, and spirits will remain high, fuelled by their range of craft beers, wines and spirits.

If you like the sound of indulging in irresistible Italian cuisine while sipping on your favourite wine, beer or ale, then Élan Pizzeria in Seahouses is the place for you. The menu’s full of hand-crafted pizza baked to perfection, as well as oven-baked pasta – with the option to bring your own wine and beer.

With an Olympic-standard arena, a six kilometre hacking track and a cross-country course spread over 80 hectares of parkland, Bishop Burton College in Beverley offers up one of the best equestrian experiences in the North. Watch as some of Europe’s most promising riders take on dressage, showjumping and eventing in the Pony European Championships.

If, in your opinion, there’s nothing better than tucking into a delicious array of tantalising, bite-sized dishes – served alongside your wine of choice – whilst being serenaded by the timeless sound of jazz then we have a treat for you. Thursday sees the ARC in Stockton host one of their ever-popular Jazz & Tapas evenings, where you’ll be offered four main dishes (as well as a range of other special menu items) as you listen to the superb Jeremy McMurray and the Pocket Jazz Orchestra.
