OBJECT, UNIVERSE & LIFE IN PERFORMANCE
8th–9th April
Space Six

Explore the three basic elements that contribute towards making a complete visual performance in this fascinating masterclass. Work your Object with dexterity, whether puppets, masks or shadows; create a valid Universe through scenography, light and sound; and learn how to bring it all to Life through animation and performance techniques.

MICROBODYSSEY (Tatwood Puppets)
9th April
Alphabetti Theatre

Be transported through the microscope and unearth miniature monsters and curious creatures in hidden worlds much closer than you might think. Presented by Kerrin’s own performance company Tatwood Puppets, Microbodyssey promises to take families on an unforgettable journey towards the discovery of what it really means to be human.

THE SEED CARRIERS (Stephen Mottram’s Animata)
12th April
Dance City

Now a classic work of adult animation theatre (winning several international theatre awards during its tours in 18 different countries) The Seed Carriers is as thrilling as it is enigmatic. In conspiracy with haunting live music, these puppets draw their audience into a beautiful world of miniature life bursting with colour, which becomes increasing disturbing as our understanding of it develops.

INSECT MARIONETTE CIRCUS (String Theatre)
13th April
Seven Stories

Come and be immersed in the magical world of The Insect Circus – where beetles, grasshoppers, wasps and dragonflies all demonstrate their dexterity with great skill and humour. Presented using marionettes and live accordion music, the show breathes new, fascinating life into traditional Victorian puppetry techniques.

BEGINNER’S CRASH COURSE IN PUPPET MAKING & PERFORMANCE
13th–14th April
Space Six

Designed for complete beginners, this two-day workshop teaches participants how to make and manipulate a puppet of their own. Using wonder thermoplastic Worbla, you will design and sculpt a figure on the first day, before learning how to bring your characters to life in the second by exploring the processes of movement, breath and centres of energy.
