See one of the most exciting musicians of the moment and dig in to proper pub grub

Yorkshire:
He’s one of the most exciting musicians of the moment, having risen to global attention in 2013 when his moody and soulful single Take Me to Church became a viral sensation, and now Hozier is back on the road with a brand new album in tow. Make sure you check out his new (yet characteristically catchy) sound when he performs at Sheffield City Hall this Friday.

Following his success with The Foundry and Grön Kafe, MasterChef: The Professionals runner-up Matt Healy has just opened the doors to his new gastropub, The Beehive, where he’s put together a menu of pub classics with a modern twist. The former village pub now serves up enticing dishes – like potted duck, The Beehive burger with Jamón Ibérico, and to finish, a classic crème brûlée – with Healy at its helm. It’s safe to say we’re pretty buzzing to try it.

North East:
Now in its 67th year, the Hexham Abbey Festival of Music and Arts has a tried and tested recipe for success. As well as a strong emphasis on choral music, represented by their Candlelight Concert and Festival Chorus, they are also presenting a programme that includes jazz, world and folk music (as well as a ballet film classic) all weekend, starting this Thursday.

Hibou Blanc is the latest addition to the Bigg Market’s on-going regeneration project. The menu promises to showcase the best local and seasonal ingredients (with an emphasis on fish and shellfish), the atmosphere promises to be relaxed – and, most importantly, the wine list promises to be extensive. When can we go?
