Bringing fiery passion, Latin flair and paintwork of unrivalled light and shade, Fabian Perez promises to send temperatures soaring when he visits Trent Galleries in Beverley on Friday for their last artist event of the year. The world-renowned Argentinian master of the canvas has an eloquence which is, arguably, unrivalled – draping his characters in cinematic lighting and depicting scenes which simply ooze with suspense. You won’t want to miss this meet-and-greet with a difference.

In September 2018, Michael Wignall, along with his wife, took over the Angel Inn at Hetton, where he creates technically-accomplished dishes with a focus on fresh and sustainable produce. Despite only commanding the kitchen for a year, in October his culinary skills secured The Angel, and indeed Yorkshire, a coveted Michelin star, making it a go-to destination for foodies across the North. After Michael’s Chef Demonstration at our Yorkshire Christmas Fair this weekend we’re dying to head along and sample their dishes which can include game terrine of partridge, duck and pigeon, with fermented king oyster and beurre noisette.

Wham! Bang! Kapow! The action-packed Marvel Universe LIVE! makes its Newcastle debut this Thursday at the Utilita Arena with an all-new storyline and never-before-seen characters, in one epic battle of good versus evil. Featuring characters from all the Marvel films and comic books, this live spectacular promises to thrill as drama soars, smashes and bursts onto the stage, with the help of some cutting-edge special effects, pyrotechnics, and impressive 3D video projection mapping.

When the weather turns, there’s no better escape than a traditional, cosy pub. The Lord Crewe Arms, guided by the imagination of Emma Broom, serve up seasonal dishes cooked to the highest order and showcase the best regional and seasonal foods across their menus which are packed with ingredients grown in the beautiful grounds and kitchen garden of the Lord Crewe. It’s the perfect spot to hunker down with a glass of vino on a cold evening and, even make a night of it.
