This week we’re enjoying the sunny weather. From al fresco dining, to mystical boat rides – we’ve got you covered

North East

What To Do:
If you have a wild side, Beamish Wild is the place to go this week – visit here for an action-packed adventure that will keep the whole family entertained. You can swing from the trees, and enjoy zip wires, rope bridges and swinging tyres – all finished with a 45ft power fan free-fall. Afterwards, relax and unwind with a glass of real-ale and some delicious food in the restaurant and micro-brewery.

Where To Eat:
This week is forecast for sun – so for al fresco drinks and dining in the sunshine, visit Bar Loco – a hidden gem in Newcastle’s centre, whose new owner has recently transformed the car park into a cool outdoor seating area. Sip some wine, eat some pizza, and get a good dose of vitamin D – weather permitting!

What To Do:
Visit Peasholm Park, near Scarborough’s North Bay, for a day out like no other. This enchanting park boasts beautiful streams and waterfalls, miniature bridges and mystical gardens for you to explore. The park also has a tranquil lake, and in the summer months there are brightly coloured boats available to hire, including rowing boats, canoes and dragon-themed pedaloes. If you’d prefer to sit back and relax, jump aboard the Swan Launch Princess, and let someone else do the work.

Where To Eat:
For a real treat this week, head to Mannion & Co in Helmsley for freshly baked artisan bread, irresistible pastries, and a choice of head-turning speciality grazing platters. Try something from their deli counter, which is filled with a spectacular selection of charcuterie and cheese, or try something sweeter from their extensive choice of freshly baked desserts. With spectacular views overlooking Helmsley Castle, Mannion and Co always promises a great dining experience.
