In association with The Wedding Fair

You’ve got the ring on your finger, and now you’re faced with the daunting task of starting to plan your wedding. The North East Wedding Fair will help you get started by providing everything you need under one roof — venues, dresses, bands, florists and more will be on hand to assist you in creating the perfect day. Follow these tips to make the most of the fair.

1. Start your day at the Catwalk Show
A wide variety of wedding dresses will be showcased live on the runway four times a day. Enjoy a glass of bubbly and watch as models strut the catwalk in beautiful gowns and elegant footwear, bridesmaids dresses and occasion wear, and male models showcase tailored suits for inspiration for the whole party.

2. Find your wedding dress
Take note of your favourites from the catwalk and head to the boutiques and designers to try them on for yourself. With plenty of exhibitors, you can opt for a dress you saw on the catwalk, or find a hidden gem. Experts are always on hand to help you feel confident and look your best on your big day.

3. Take your time
There are more than 100 exhibitors at the fair, so make sure you arrive with plenty of time. They’re experts in their respective fields and are dedicated to making your day the best it can be. Tell them all about your vision, and they’ll do the best they can to make it a reality.

4. Find the perfect wedding venue
The first step in planning your wedding is finding the venue. The North East Wedding Fair has a vast range of stunning wedding venues, from castles, hotels, halls, outdoor weddings or even a wedding abroad, you’ll find the right venue for your day.

5. Grab a show guide
With so much information to take in, it’s inevitable you’ll forget a few things by the end of the day. Show guides are free, so grab one at the entrance and note down your favourites as you go around, ensuring you’ve got all the details of who to talk to once you’re home.

6. Celebrate your engagement in style
The planning process is incredibly exciting, so treat yourself and your party to Silver or Gold afternoon tea tickets with SHOW Beauty. If there’s ever a time to treat yourself, it’s in the build up to your wedding.

7. Mix it up
Familiarise yourself with the features of the fair before heading down, as with live performances from the region’s best performers, and a prosecco bar to enjoy a glass of fizz and afternoon tea, you’ll need to plan ahead to fit it all in.

8. Talk to the wedding experts
Experts are on hand to share their knowledge with you, so head down to speak to them while you can. SHOW Beauty’s pop up DRY bar provides express haircare services where you can learn about the bridal services on offer, and all the latest bridal haircare trends.

9. Grab a bargain
It’s no secret that weddings can be expensive, which is why many exhibitors offer special prices, unique offers, free samples and demonstrations. There’s usually a list of the best offers on the show’s website, which is updated right up until the event, so you can find exactly who it is you want to speak to.

10. And relax…
After all that, you’ll need a trip to the prosecco bar where you can enjoy a cup of tea, or a glass of something stronger, to help you relax and reflect on all you’ve achieved during the day. After recharging make sure to have a final word with any exhibitors you have questions for before calling it a day.
