Easy Toad-In-The-Hole

For the batter:
100g plain flour
2 eggs
150ml semi-skimmed milk
1 tsp salt

For the toad:
8 pork sausages
1 onion, finely chopped

Why not try this take on a traditional family classic, combining the fluffiest Yorkshire pud batter with the best sausages for an easy toad-in-the-hole supper

Make the batter as above.

Place the sausages in an over-proof dish and scatter over the onion, drizzle over extra oil if required (largely depending on your choice of sausage) and cook for 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from the oven and immediately pour the batter over the sausages, add a couple of sprigs of rosemary (or not) and return to the oven to cook for a further 35 minutes, until the batter has risen and is golden brown on top. You can add your own twist to the dish with leeks, peas or any vegetable by simply adding them to the sausages before adding the batter.
