Not only is this weekend a little longer than usual, it’s the beginning of English wine week too, so we’ve rounded up a few of our favourites from the mighty blighty, to celebrate the occasion

1. First Crush Rosé, £14
This dry rosé with flavours of red fruits and a sweet, spicy finish, is made up from equal amounts of regent and marline angevine grapes grown in the Walton Brook Vineyard in Leicestershire, after a fabulous season provided beautifully-ripe grapes. The grapes have then been crushed and de-stemmed, and pressed together in hydraulic basket press. Allowing the juice of the white grapes to drain through the red skins, in the local Laneburg Winery, Gateshead.

2.  Lyme Block English Wine, £9.99
Made in conjunction with Aldi and Lyme Bay, a Devon-based winery renowned for its quality offering and innovative approach to winemaking, the tipple has been crafted using England's signature grape, Bacchus, and was recently awarded a prestigious Silver medal at the renowned International Wine and Spirit Competition.

3. Camel Valley Atlantic Dry, £13.95
This appropriately-named white wine from vineyards above the River Camel in Cornwall has been produced by Bob Lindo and his family for more than 25 years. This particular blend of 67 per cent pinot blanc and 33 per cent bacchus results in a full-on citrus and green fruit flavour with a crisp dry finish.
