5 Reasons Why: Eddie Redmayne

Eddie Redmayne
Eddie Redmayne is a hugely successful yet generous and humble bloke
‘He occasionally pays the rent of struggling actors trying to make it in London’

1.The Oscar winner snubs chauffeurs to take the tube. He might have millions in the bank, but Eddie is more than happy to ride on the Underground when it comes to making his way around busy London.

2.Shortly after his portrayal of Professor Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, he was named by the Queen in 2016 as part of her June Birthday Honours List, and in December received an OBE for Services to Drama.

3.His wife, Hannah Bagshawe, an executive PR, was a friend of Eddie’s for many years after attending neighbouring schools. In 2012 however, friendship turned into love when Eddie invited her on their first date… A trip to Florence for some down time.

4.Eddie came from a pretty privileged background and attended Eton College, but humbly recognises that not everyone can afford to live in London as an aspiring actor. Thats why, he occasionally pays the rent of struggling actors trying to make it in London.

5.Ahead of the release of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Eddie and his co-star Jude Law made a very special visit to the Harry Potter fans at on 1 September for ‘Back to Hogwarts’ day at London King’s Cross’ Platform 9 3/4, stopping to take photos with fans and leading the countdown for the 11am departure of the Hogwarts Express.
