Go Local: Where to support now the shops are re-opening

Living North

Today is the day we can all go shopping again. We can also visit our local zoo, go to church, check out the form for this week’s Royal Ascot (hats optional) and diarise which football match we are going to watch when, starting on Wednesday. We can hug a granny, as long as it’s your own and she lives alone… but still that’s real progress. The easing of lockdown restrictions will mean so much to so many, and as we anticipate further easing we think it’s fairly safe to start planning your staycation.

But the most important thing is to support your local community. Your small, independent shops and suppliers need you – and we would all miss them if they were gone. So if you can – pay them a visit. Splash a little cash and show them your support.

These are a few of our top picks, but don't forget, you can discover more local independents that Living North loves by visiting The List here
