Anyone For Tennis?
Queen Margaret’s School will be running their popular tennis camps again this summer. If you’ve got a young Andy Murray or Venus Williams at home who you’d rather played tennis over an actual net rather than your washing line (your kitchen windows might also be thankful) then send them along here. Kids are welcome to attend for single days or for an entire week.

Happy Campers
Pocklington School will host Camp Hippo this summer. Children aged 5 to 12 are invited to come along and get involved in all sorts of fun and games: swimming lessons, lifeguard training, trampolining, day-trips, orienteering and arts and crafts will be on the agenda so your little ones will never be short of something to do.

A Little Bit Of Everything
Giggleswick School are running four weeks’ worth of courses over the summer holidays. These cover everything from drama and performing, to outdoor pursuits and young commando courses – it’ll be like watching 30 mini-Rambos running across the Yorkshire fields, although hopefully without the flashbacks to ‘Nam or the 80s haircuts.

They Think It’s The Summer Holidays – It Is Now
From Sheffield Wednesday to Leeds United, Yorkshire has a longstanding association with the beautiful game. Send your mini-Messis and pint-sized Peles off to hone their skills at one of the many International Soccer Schools run by Kings Camps across the county – at Bradford, Halifax, Harrogate, Hull, Ilkley, Leeds, Sheffield, Wakefield and York. Running every weekday morning over the course of a week, the course covers everything from ball control and passing to dribbling and shooting. Back of the net.

Something For Everyone
This summer, Aysgarth School is playing host to Learn & Experience Summer Camp North. These residential camps last for a week at a time and run across four weeks during the summer holidays. Activities centre around sports such as football, tennis and swimming and creativity such as film making, dance and music. Whatever your little one’s passion, they’ll be able to indulge it here.

The Great Outdoors
It’s the summer! It’s slightly less cold! Take advantage by sending your children off to High Adventure Outdoor Education Centre to climb over things, jump off things, run around and generally work up a bit of a sweat. They run both as day-courses and residential activities, involving things like climbing, archery, bouldering, abseiling and, intriguingly, moon walking – we don’t advise wearing red sparkly jackets though.

A Midsummer Night’s Fling
To be or not to be? That is the wrong Shakespeare play. Don’t worry if you can’t think of any Midsummer Night’s Dream references though – after you send your little thespians off to take part in the Youth Music Theatre UK’s A Midsummer Night’s Musical Summer Skills course at Fulneck School in Leeds, they’ll be able to tell you all about it. Over the six day residential trip, students will get the chance to hone their acting, singing and dancing skills, work with a professional artistic team, boost their confidence, make new friends and take part in a performance at the end.

Learn From The Best
The holiday courses at Sedbergh School are pretty special – where else can you play rugby under the tutelage of World Cup winner Neil Back, or get involved in athletics under instruction from former Olympian Dean Macey? Residential and non-residential courses are available and include everything from sports activities to the arts.
