We’re heading out for blazing bonfires and spectacular firework displays and not forgetting the festivities which continue throughout the week. From a peek at Fenwick’s renowned window to the highlight of the Christmas calendar Living North’s Christmas Fa

Kicking off at 6pm, enjoy a good old-fashioned bonfire gathering in Matfen village. Food and drink certainly won’t be in short supply, as The Black Bull and Matfen Village Store provide you with your fill. Just be sure to stick around to watch the fireworks bast off from 6:30pm.

Enjoy the opening night of this celebration of all things printed and bound with The Things We Wouldn’t Otherwise Find, a Leeds Playhouse production that has been commissioned by The Leeds Library to mark its 250th anniversary. A must see for bibliophiles, this play promises a hilarious and provocative account of libraries in the age of the internet.

Now that Halloween and Bonfire Night have been and gone, it’s time to start getting ready for the most wonderful time of the year with a delicious afternoon tea at Fenwick Newcastle’s Snowman Café. Featuring an array of festive themed baked treats, this cosy pop-up café is located on the store’s lower ground floor. Eagerly anticipated by Christmas enthusiasts of all ages, why not finish off your visit with a trip outside to the Fenwick Christmas window? Featuring scenes from the classic Christmas film The Snowman, it’s the perfect way to get those sleigh bells ringing.

Christmas is just around the corner, and Living North’s Christmas Fair is coming to York Racecourse from today. Come along to sort all of your Christmas shopping in one swoop, as we’ve got a treasure trove of fine artisan food producers, designer-makers and retailers, and (of course) bars and cafes – it’s everything you need for a fun and festive day out.
