The couple first met at Gibside. They both worked there at the time, but Alex lived onsite. Alex actually first met Dan in her pyjamas in the staff car park!
They got engaged at Gibside too. They had been for a walk with their dog Scout the previous week and Dan thought it would be a good place to propose so he convinced Alex that they should go again the following week. It was a beautiful summer's morning, and Alex was so surprised that Dan had to remind her to take some pictures so they could remember the moment.
