With more than 100 restaurants offering £10, £15 or £20 menus, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy some of the best food in the city. Here’s our top picks of where to dine out at a discount.

Dining at this cosy Michelin Guide-recommended restaurant is a real treat and it’s even better when it’s at a discount. Enjoy a starter and a main, or a main and a dessert for just £20. Our perfect meal would be the crispy lamb sweetbreads with fresh peas, mint and pea juice to start followed by the rare seared tuna with baba ghanoush and coriander. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, the white chocolate and rose panna cotta with pomegranate and pistachio sounds ideal.

Horticulture
1–3 Market Lane, Newcastle NE1 6QQ
0191 261 7222
Enjoy two brunch dishes for £15 or try a selection of snacks, sides and small plates for £20, and because they have deals throughout the day it’s the perfect excuse to try both their brunch and evening offerings. We’re big fans of their shloumi brunch – think halloumi, mixed mushrooms, fresh creamy avocado and a poached egg on sourdough Rye, topped with spiced tomato sauce and spicy dressing.

Victors
106 Quayside, Newcastle NE1 3DX
0191 359 2906
It’s all about modern American-Japanese fusion dishes at the brand new Quayside restaurant, Victors. Expect starters such as sweet soy and sesame chicken skewers, panko squid and mushroom croquettes; teriyaki salmon and wild garlic roast chicken for mains; followed by a section of desserts including a coconut and lemongrass panna cotta. The deal during the week is two courses for £20.
