Dine out at a discount as Newcastle Restaurant Week returns from 5th–11th of August

This is your chance to enjoy some of the best food Newcastle has to offer for just £10 or £15 per person.

Monday 5th August
Begin as you mean to go on at the popular Tyneside Bar Café, at Tyneside Cinema, who serve up cinema food with a difference. The café is offering two-course and three-course options which are both sure to beat your Monday blues – think crispy salt cod, followed by miso-glazed aubergine steak. For dessert, forget stale cinema popcorn and instead try a delicious popcorn panacotta.

Tuesday 6th August
Dine in style at Dobson and Parnell, whose lavish interior blends modern elegance with key Victorian features. Head Chef Troy Terrington prepares his food using fresh produce, and preserving techniques such as curing, smoking, salting, brining and fermenting, resulting in mouthwatering dishes. As one of Newcastle's finest restaurants, their exclusive three-course lunch and two-course dinner offerings are a steal.

Wednesday 7th August
For your mid-week meal make a beeline for The Muddler on Grey Street, for great pan-Asian food in a relaxed atmosphere. Their delicious dishes are instagram-worthy, and during Restaurant Week they are offering a selection of dishes including tempura, dim sum and chargrilled robatte options. We recommend the spicy peppered squid, prawn tempura, and salmon teriyaki.

Thursday 8th August
On Thursday, why not head to Route near the Quayside to sample some of their delicious British classics? This lavish restaurant serves up great seasonal dishes in stylish surroundings, and you can indulge for less this Restaurant Week with their exclusive three-course menu. Try heirloom tomatoes followed by crispy sticky shoulder of lamb, with a strawberry sorbet for dessert.

Friday 9th August
Celebrate the end of the week with a three-course meal and a gin or two at Pleased to Meet You, a bar and restaurant serving French classics with a British twist. Treat yourself to their soup of the day followed by herb-fed chicken breast from their exclusive Restaurant Week menu. To top it off, finish with a lemon posset – or, if you'd prefer something savoury, order their Northumberland cheeseboard.

Saturday 10th August
Spice up your Saturday night with a visit to Cuban cocktail bar and restaurant Revolution De Cuba who bring you Latin-inspired food, tapas and cocktails straight from the tropics. For Restaurant Week there will be a tapas offer, with a choice of dishes including chorizo glazed in a red wine and honey sauce, and charred halloumi, butternut squash and courgette. There will also be a three-course offering which includes a choice of tapas, main plate and churros.

Sunday 11th August
End your week on a high with a starter, main and milkshake from Fat Hippo Underground. Try fried crinkle-cut pickles or dirty waffles followed by one of their mouthwatering burgers – we recommend the Tropic Thunder Burger and their Veggie Hippo Burger.
