To celebrate Mother's Day on 10th March, we've rounded up the best afternoon teas across the North East as a treat.

A beautiful hidden gem in the Tyne Valley, this restored 18th century walled garden is the perfect spot for a blissful afternoon of homemade treats and tea. Choose between a traditional afternoon tea, their Confectioner’s Tea (which is perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth), or for something special their Sparkling Afternoon Tea which includes a glass of Prosecco or chilled bellini.

On Whitley Bay’s seafront, this iconic Grade II-listed building is a vibrant hub of activity, and a great option for afternoon tea beside the sea. The Front Parlour Coffee House & Kitchen is a family-run business based in Ashbrooke. Since opening in January 2023, they have become known for their homemade, delightful afternoon tea which includes dainty finger sandwiches with a choice of delicious fillings, warm scones (both sweet and savoury, with cream, jam and savoury chutney), and indulgent cakes and desserts.
