Two Books the LN Team Loved
Sometimes an oldie is a goodie
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck
Mark Manson
After seeing rave reviews about this self-help book, from the first chapter I knew it was going to live up to the hype. The book is full of wit and is without the self righteousness that can often come across ‘preachy’ in other similar books, in fact, Manson takes exception to traditional positive thinking-style books and the actual negative effect they have on society. If you’ve ever cared about what others think or suffered with low confidence, then I highly recommend you read this Manson masterpiece immediately.

A Game of Thrones
George RR Martin
Having just finished watching HBO’s stupendous Game of Thrones (four years after it ended – I don’t like to rush these things), I felt the time was right for a reread of the source material. It’s great to be back in the early days of the fight for the Iron Throne, and to once again remember just what a brilliant writer George RR Martin really is. If you don’t think fantasy is your thing, fair enough – but these are well-written, tightly-plotted novels, with fleshed-out characters, intricate politics and plenty of dramatic twists.
