Fatboy Slim Kicks off BRITs Week in Newcastle
Fatboy Slim put on an unforgettable performance at Newcastle's Boiler Shop for BRITs Week 26
BRITs Week 26, delivered by DHL for War Child, kicked off in Newcastle in spectacular fashion, when BRIT and Grammy award-winning DJ Fatboy Slim brought high energy and good music to Boiler Shop on 12th February, entertaining the crowd with hits including Praise You and Right Here, Right Now.
The gig began with fantastic support from rising DJ Max Jones and his set of tech/house dance bangers matched the energy we’d expect from a Fatboy Slim concert. Then the event curator told us about the different works and fundraising events War Child does, and where the money raised from the gig is going, which was great to hear.
All proceeds from the shows go towards providing aid, education, specialist mental health support, and more, while standing up for the rights of children whose lives have been devastatingly affected by war. By joining the charity for these intimate, one-off performances, at some of the UK’s best venues, fans are directly contributing to help War Child rebuild children’s lives.
With music-lovers anticipating his arrival, Fatboy Slim took to the decks at 9pm with a two-hour upbeat set that was a mix of house and ‘90s tech house. He played a mix of his classics and a couple of new songs, creating a fun atmosphere – and all for a great cause!
More of these intimate gigs are taking place across the UK until Friday 27th February, leading up to The BRIT Awards 2026 with Mastercard on Saturday 28th February in Manchester.
