The wait is almost over!

The groundbreaking theatrical phenomenon Hamilton is finally coming to Sunderland this June - for a strictly limited six-week run.

Winner of 11 Tony Awards including Best Musical, seven Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and a Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album, Hamilton is the biggest theatrical event to hit the region this year.

This revolutionary production is the brainchild of the extraordinary Lin-Manuel Miranda – a multi-talented songwriter, singer, actor, filmmaker, and composer. It tells the epic story of Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and played a pivotal role in shaping the foundations of modern America.

With a genre-defying score that fuses hip-hop, jazz, blues, R&B, rap, and classic Broadway, Hamilton is the story of America then, told by America now.

Prepare to be blown away by a sensational cast of West End and Broadway stars, dazzling choreography, and ingenious staging. You'll be humming unforgettable songs like Satisfied, You’ll Be Back, Burn, My Shot, and, of course, Alexander Hamilton long after the curtain falls.

Directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, music supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, and based on Ron Chernow’s acclaimed biography, this is theatre at its most electrifying
