To mark North Shields’ 800th birthday, Elevation have collaborated with mural artists to bring the town’s stories and spirit to life in this vibrant mural trail, displaying art on iconic buildings throughout the town and fish quay. We love Oceanus on the 55° Fisheries building which is inspired by the archeological discovery of altars (dedicated to the water gods Neptune and Oceanus) in Newcastle.

Turner Prize 2025

The Turner Prize (named in honour of JMW Turner) is one of the world’s best-known prizes for the visual arts. We’re so excited that it’s heading to Bradford as the 250th anniversary of Turner’s birth is celebrated this year. The shortlisted artists are Nnena Kalu, Rene Mati, Mohammed Sami and Zadie Xa, and you’ll be able to see their work in the exhibition at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery before the winner is announced on 9th December.

Tom Hume: Retrospective

Tom Hume was a Durham-based artist and art teacher and this is the first comprehensive exhibition of his work. It’s been co-curated by Ushaw and the artist’s widow, Barbara.
