Give the gift of theatre this festive season and make memories to last a lifetime.

Trapped in the snow with a killer still on-board, can the world’s most famous detective, Hercule Poirot, crack the case of the Murder on the Orient Express (Tuesday 14th–Saturday 18th January) before the train reaches its final destination? 

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Sebastian Faulks’s epic story of love and loss, Birdsong (Tuesday 21st–Saturday 25th January) returns to the stage. Starring award-winning actor Max Bowden (EastEnders), this production is a mesmerising story of courage; once seen, never forgotten. 

Australian superstar Jason Donovan comes to Newcastle in legendary rock ‘n’ roll musical, The Rocky Horror Show (Monday 27th January–Saturday 1st February). Featuring timeless classics; Sweet Transvestite, and of course, the pelvic-thrusting, show-stopping Time Warp – this is an adventure filled with fun, frolics, frocks, and frivolity! 

The perfect production for all ages, Scottish Ballet’s The Nutcracker (Thursday 6th–Saturday 8th February) brings light and joy to winter. Follow Clara as she meets the Nutcracker Prince and is whisked into the luscious Land of Sweets by the Sugar Plum Fairy!

Take a trip back in time with Only Fools and Horses The Musical (Monday 10th–Saturday 22nd February). Love is in the air as Del Boy sets out on the rocky road to find his soul mate, Rodney and Cassandra prepare to say, ‘I do’, and even Trigger is gearing up for a date (with a person!). 

Watching the nation’s favourite novel The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Tuesday 25th February–Saturday 1st March) come to life on stage in Newcastle is the perfect half term treat! Join Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter in the magical kingdom of Narnia as they meet new friends and face dangerous foes, guaranteed to delight all ages. 

Thirteen-year-old Cameron must choose how far he’ll go to get his life back when multi award-winning writer Malorie Blackman OBE’s, Pig Heart Boy (Tuesday 29th April–Saturday 3rd May) asks is it better to have a pig’s heart that works, than a human heart that doesn’t? 

With music by pop-icon Cyndi Lauper, West End phenomenon Kinky Boots The Musical (Tuesday 6th–Saturday 10th May), is strutting back to Newcastle in a brand-new production starring Strictly Come Dancing’s Johannes Radebe. & Juliet (Monday 2nd–Sat 7th June) proves there is life after Romeo! Get whisked away on a fabulous journey as Juliet ditches her famous ending for a fresh beginning and a second chance at life and love – her way. Featuring hits by Britney Spears and Katy Perry, the only tragic thing would be missing it!

And finally, starring The X Factor winner and Theatre Royal favourite Joe McElderry as the roof-raising Pharaoh, the smash hit production Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Tuesday 10th–Sunday 15th June) returns to Newcastle Theatre Royal!
