Treat yourself for less in Sunderland this September

Returning to Sunderland from Saturday 6th to Sunday 14th September, for the first time diners will even have the chance to try food from Michelin-star chef Tommy Banks.

This is a fun social hub which blends excellent Detroit-style pizza and cocktails with work from local artists. Keep an eye on their specials for the latest creations, and they’ve expanded to include event evenings and bottomless brunch too. There are two offers on here during Restaurant Week, and diners can either enjoy two pizzas for £15 or two pizzas and two fries for £20.

A new and extra special experience for Restaurant Week in Sunderland, the Stadium of Light will open its doors on Saturday 6th for one day only to just 250 people to experience the excellence of Tommy Banks’ cooking at 76 Yards. For just £25, guests can enjoy a one-course meal, a welcome drink and a Tommy Banks recipe print. This must be booked in advance and full details can be found online.

This is a great opportunity for fine dining at a discount as North was recently named in The Good Food Guide’s 100 Best Local Restaurants 2025. The menu is seafood heavy, and it’s no surprise given the restaurant’s proximity to the waves at Seaburn. Their midday offer (Wednesday to Sunday from 10.30am) is a standard brunch meal with a coffee or soft drink. In the evening (Wednesday to Saturday from 4pm) is three small plates for £25.

Seafood and Steak Co

This restaurant does exactly what it says on the tin (and does it well). Found inside STACK Seaburn, the menu is filled with seafood classics and steak cooked the way you like it. Diners are spoiled for choice during Restaurant Week (Monday to Saturday from 12pm). Their £15 offer includes three small plates, for £20  you can enjoy two courses, and for only £25 you can tuck into three courses.

Blacks Corner, Tram Shelter

Chic and contemporary with excellent sea views, this space blends a wine bar, deli and restaurant into one. It's a great venue for those who love to graze, as Blacks Corner work with more than 25 cheesemakers, charcuteries, and independent producers. From 1pm onwards every day of Restaurant Week, tuck into three small plates for £25 or a British cheeseboard and glass of wine for £25.

Six

A coastal gem, Six is known for its excellent sharing boards, small plates and charcuterie. There are four offers available during Restaurant Week (excluding Thursday evening and Sunday). Until 2pm, enjoy two cakes and two coffees for £10 or two breakfast bagels for £15. For £20, enjoy a sourdough flatbread topped with roasted tomato sauce, king prawns, mussels, anchovies and mozzarella served with two small house wines, and for £25 go all out with mussels and king prawns in red Thai sauce, served with warm breads. It also includes a half cheese and charcuterie board served with chutney and olives with two small house wines.

Vito’s Osteria

A slice of Italy tucked away inside Sheepfolds Stables, Vito’s keeps it authentic and delicious. Available until 4pm from Sunday to Saturday, diners can enjoy two courses for £20 or three for £25. A visit that doesn’t include arancini is a crime.
