Wondering where you can find the freshest seafood in Yorkshire?

Read on for our top 10 suggestions.

Crab and Lobster
The interior of this award-winning restaurant is filled with memorabilia, not just on the walls but hanging from the oak beams too – they even have a whole drum kit dangling amidst their chandeliers. The cuisine is equally as memorable, think gourmet dishes such as Large Fillet of Hartlepool Fish Market Haddock, Theakstons Ale Batter, Minted Mushy Peas, Proper Chips, Tartare Sauce and Chinese Curry.

Naked Fish
Owner, James Goacher, has seafood in his blood. His grandfather worked for a large fish wholesaler and had fishing boats in Bridlington harbour, while his father and uncle were fish merchants. Through these connections he sources the freshest seafood for Naked Fish, which was his answer to Bridlington's need for a good-quality fish restaurant serving fresh food in an informal way.

Green's of Whitby
The owners of Green's, Rob and Emma, have created a combination of downstairs bistro and formal upstairs restaurant, aptly named Upstairs at Green's. Rob has contact with the best local seafood suppliers, so you can rest assured that the menu will always offer the freshest catch. He can even tell you which boat your fish was caught from and the skipper's name – talk about traceability!

Gravely’s of Harrogate
With rave reviews and a menu of seafood classics, Gravely’s isn’t one to miss. The family-run restaurant prides itself on the quality of seafood on offer. Alongside a selection of mussel dishes, lightly seasoned fish options and their famous fish and chips, they also have a range of signature dishes including Gravely’s Jewel (a bed of shellfish cooked in garlic butter and white wine with a selection of deep fried seafood).

The Seaview Restaurant
This restaurant has (as you may have guessed) fantastic views over Saltburn's beach and cliffs. Alongside their famous fish and chips, they offer salads, sandwiches and tasty seafood starters such as Crab Parcel and Seaview Fishcakes. Takeout is a popular option here, where you can enjoy your fish and chips on the promenade while watching the surfers.

Loch Fyne Seafood and Grill
With seafood carefully sourced from – you guessed it – Loch Fyne, this restaurant claims that the food is so fresh you can still taste the spring water from the surrounding mountains. The business was started over a mutual love of oysters, so we recommend giving their signature dish a go.
