Nestled in the South Tyne valley and surrounded by Northumberland’s breathtaking moorlands, The Kirkstyle Inn has four individually-designed luxury bedrooms, a welcoming bar and a deserved reputation for exceptional food served in its characterful dining room. No wonder it was voted one of the best pub stays in 2025.
With strong roots in the community and blessed with an abundance of wild game and pasture-bred sheep and cattle from neighbouring farms, the inn’s head chef Connor Wilson makes the most of the local produce.
Classic cooking techniques with minimal intervention maximise the flavour of each dish, with the emphasis very much on seasonality and sustainability. Even the moreish crusty homemade sourdough bread is nurtured and baked in-house, and the kitchen’s outstanding cooking is matched by an extensive wine list and well stocked bar.
Upstairs the bedrooms are decked out in calm, muted tones with unexpected but tasteful splashes of colour, whilst outside venture north and you’ll hit Hadrian’s Wall, there are fishing opportunities on the nearby South Tyne, and the surrounding countryside was simply made for walking.

Water is served at the table but the offer excludes all other beverages. The stay must be double occupancy and taken on a Wednesday or Thursday night. This offer is valid until 31st December 2026, and cannot be taken in conjunction with any other offer or be taken on the date of special or notable event e.g. a wine tasting dinner, game tasting dinner, Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
