Living North is delighted to have teamed up with Ryedale Folk Museum to offer a lucky couple the chance to win the wedding of their dreams

Ryedale Folk Museum is a place where history is brought to life, through its incredible buildings and collections – and it could be the perfect place for your big day. The museum is at the heart of the picturesque village of Hutton-le-Hole, in the beautiful countryside of the North York Moors National Park.

The museum is host to nine unique locations for small-scale to extravagant weddings. They can host micro ceremonies with just two witnesses in The High Shop – their 1950s village store – or the Undertaker’s Office – not for the faint hearted! And their intimate ceremonies include their Daylight Photographic Studio with its traditional portrait backdrop, or the Crofter’s Cottage with its attractive cottage garden. For larger parties, the wooden-clad Pavilion has a vintage feel, the Iron Age Roundhouse is truly distinctive and their thatched Manor House is just as impressive. Whichever you choose, the venue will be full of character and a ceremony at Ryedale Folk Museum is always a memorable way to say ‘I do’.

This incredible prize includes your ceremony location hire (simply choose from one of the museum’s nine options to host your wedding with up to thirty guests) as well as a fabulous reception in the museum’s Pavilion with tea and scones served using their collection of vintage mis-matched china. You’ll also be able to hold onto professional photographs to remember your day thanks to Angela Waites Photography, and you’ll be treated to a £100 voucher towards designer wedding attire at Bridal Reloved York, a £70 voucher towards gorgeous sustainable flowers from Picked at Dawn, a £50 voucher for bespoke handmade jewellery by Jo Bagshaw and bed and breakfast at Galtres Lodge Hotel in York – a superb Georgian townhouse around the corner from York Minster (perfect for a mini honeymoon).

For full details and for your chance to win this unbelievable wedding, exclusive to Living North readers, simply send your name and contact details on a postcard to Living North, Studio 2, St Nicholas Chare, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 1RJ, enter online at livingnorth.com or email competitions@livingnorth.com. Please mark your entry ‘Ryedale Wedding’. All entries to be received by 2nd September 2021.

Not the lucky winner? Ryedale Folk Museum’s dedicated and friendly team can still help you every step of the way to make your big day perfect. They welcome traditional, non-traditional and historic ceremonies.
